Servicing Fire Extinguishers

Servicing Fire Extinguishers

As of our last update in September 2021, the Irish standard for servicing fire extinguishers is known as Irish Standard I.S. 291:2015 - "Code of Practice for the Selection, Commissioning, Installation, and Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers."

This standard provides guidelines for the proper selection, commissioning, installation, and maintenance of fire extinguishers in Ireland. It covers various aspects, including the types of fire extinguishers suitable for different types of fires, their correct placement and installation, regular inspection and testing, and the maintenance procedures to ensure their reliability in case of an emergency.

If you are seeking the most up-to-date information or if there have been any revisions or new standards introduced since my last update, I recommend checking with the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) or relevant fire safety authorities in Ireland for the latest guidelines on servicing fire extinguishers to comply with Irish standards. They will be able to provide you with the most current and accurate information on this topic.
